    Brewing your comparison…

    How VetTea works

The short version: we brew every price down to what you'd actually pay, and we're upfront about what's still missing.

We brew long and thoroughly Vets aren't hospitals, they aren't legally required to publish what anything costs the way hospitals are. So before a price ever shows up here, we've already done the digging to find real numbers and line them up so you can actually compare.
We keep the fine print attached A clinic's headline price is often gated by income, residency, your pet's age, weight, or medical history, and appointments may sit on a waitlist. We show that eligibility note next to every price instead of a clean number that quietly doesn't apply to you.
We separate the standard fee from the discount Several clinics offer a steep discount, sometimes free, to people who qualify. We always show the standard fee everyone can pay, and separately flag when a lower income-qualified tier exists, never blended into one misleading number.
We tell you what we don't have yet A lot of the veterinary market doesn't publish pricing anywhere online, that's most of what's still missing here. Growing that list is the whole point going forward.

    What this isn't

It isn't a quote, and it isn't medical advice. Prices, eligibility rules, and waitlists change without notice. Treat VetTea as a starting point for which questions to ask before you book, then confirm the numbers directly with the clinic.

    Privacy Policy

VetTea is a price-comparison site. The short version: we don't want your personal information, we don't sell anything about you, and there are no advertising or cross-site trackers on this site.

    What we count

To know whether the site is useful, we count page visits and which procedures get searched. That happens with a random ID your browser generates and stores locally - a string of characters that isn't tied to your name, email, or anything else about you.

We do not store your IP address, and we do not store your ZIP code. Counts are aggregated before we look at them, and very small numbers are suppressed so no single visit can be picked out.

    What stays on your device

Your ZIP, search radius, light/dark preference, and which filters you've turned on are saved in your browser so the site remembers them next time. They are stored on your device and are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data erases them.

Your email, if you give it

The only personal information we ask for is an email address, and only if you choose to sign up for updates. We use it to email you and for nothing else. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it. Email hello@vettea.org to be removed and we'll delete it.

Other companies that see your visit

Some parts of the site are served by other companies, and a request to them necessarily reveals your IP address to them. We've kept this list as short as we can:

    • Cloudflare - serves and protects the site; sees all traffic.
    • Stadia Maps and OpenStreetMap - draw the map tiles.
    • unpkg - delivers the mapping code the site runs.
    • Zippopotam.us - turns a ZIP code into a location. If you type a ZIP, that ZIP is sent to them to look up. We don't keep it, but we should be clear that it leaves this site.

    Children

This site is meant for adults arranging care for their animals, and isn't directed at children under 13.

    Terms & Conditions

By using VetTea you're agreeing to what's below. It's short on purpose.

    What VetTea is

A record of prices and service details that veterinary practices have published themselves or shared with us directly, gathered in one place so you can compare before you call. Every price is attributed to its source: the page we read it from, or the clinic that sent it.

    What VetTea is not

    • Not a quote. Only the clinic can quote you. Prices, eligibility rules and waitlists change without notice, and a listing here may be out of date.
    • Not veterinary advice. Nothing here is a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation. If your animal needs care, talk to a veterinarian.
    • Not legal advice. Where we describe rules that govern veterinary practice, that's general information gathered from public sources, not advice about your situation.
    • Not an endorsement. Appearing on VetTea isn't a recommendation of a clinic, and we're not paid to list or rank anyone.

Accuracy, and what to do when we're wrong

We check prices against each clinic's own published material and record where each one came from. We still expect to be wrong sometimes - sources move, pages go stale, and we make mistakes. We don't warrant that everything here is accurate or current, which is why every page tells you to confirm with the clinic before booking.

If something is wrong, tell us at hello@vettea.org. If you're a clinic and your listing is wrong, out of date, or you'd rather not be listed, email us and we'll correct or remove it.

If you're a clinic sharing prices with us

Some clinics send us their pricing directly rather than leaving us to find it. If that's you, this is what you're agreeing to, and what we're agreeing to back.

    • It's free, and placement is never for sale. We don't charge to be listed, to appear higher, or to stay listed. No clinic can pay us for position, a badge, or to have a competitor's price left out. That rule is the reason anyone trusts the comparison, so there's no version of VetTea where it bends.
    • You confirm you're allowed to send them. By sharing prices, you're telling us you're authorized to share them on the practice's behalf, and that they're accurate as of the day you send them.
    • You're letting us publish and reformat them. We sort prices into standard procedure categories so a spay at your clinic sits next to a spay at another. That means we may present your numbers in our own layout and wording rather than reproducing your fee sheet as-is. What we never do is change the number.
    • We add the fine print, and that's the point. Eligibility rules, what's included, weight or age limits, and the date we last checked all get shown next to the price. We may also decline to list something we can't state clearly enough for a pet owner to rely on.
    • Keeping it current is a two-way job. Tell us when your prices change and we'll update the listing. If prices move and we can't reach you, we'd rather mark a listing as unverified, or pull it, than leave a number up that we no longer trust.
    • You can leave whenever. Email us and we'll take your listing down. There's no contract, no notice period, and no account to close.

What we don't do: we don't sell leads, take a cut of bookings, charge referral or commission fees, or promise you traffic. We aren't acting as your agent, and a listing isn't an endorsement of your practice by us, or of us by you.

    Liability

VetTea is free and provided as is. We're not liable for decisions made on the basis of information here - including money spent, care delayed, or a price that turned out to be different when you called. Confirm with the clinic first.

    Using our data

Read it, use it, tell people about it. Please don't scrape the site wholesale or republish the compiled dataset as your own - the collection and verification is the work. If you want to use it for research or reporting, ask; the answer is usually yes.

    Add your clinic to VetTea

List your real prices with us, free, so people already know what to expect before they call. They reach out ready to book, not to ask what it costs - skip the phone tag, and we send them straight to your clinic.

Reach people already comparing prices Someone searching VetTea has already decided to shop around. Show up with your real numbers, promotions, and membership plans to set yourself apart - the people who reach out are ready to book, not fishing for a ballpark.
Cut down on "how much does this cost" calls Every price call your front desk fields is a question your listing could already answer. Publishing real numbers with us means fewer cold calls, and more calls from people who already know what to expect.
Highlight promotions and offers Running a discount or a new-client special? Tell us and we'll surface it right alongside your listing, not buried on a page nobody clicks through to. We're also building a dedicated way to flag things like military discounts, so clinics offering one get found by exactly the pet owners looking for it.
We do the listing, you send the numbers There's no extra account to set up. Email us your pricing (or a link to where it's published) and we'll get your clinic listed and keep it current whenever your prices change.

Every accredited US vet school, checked the same way

Nothing required us to look. Hospitals are legally required to publish prices, vet schools aren't. So before you wonder why your local teaching hospital isn't in our price comparisons, here's exactly what each one told us, in their own words wherever they gave us any.

    Dog boarding, fetched and served

We're starting with puppy steps... Here's every clinic we know that offers boarding, and the rates they've published with us or on their website.

    Pet wellness plans & memberships

Membership and wellness plans don't fit a single $-comparison either - monthly, annual, or enrollment-based, and sometimes split by life stage. Here's every clinic we know offers one, with whatever plan details they've published.

Vet exam & office visit fees

Exam fees don't fit a single cup - clinics can publish wellness, sick, urgent-care, and new-patient exam prices separately, and not every clinic offers every type. Here's everything that publishes at least one, cheapest first. Clinics currently running a new-client discount are called out.

    Exotic animal care

Birds, reptiles, rabbits, small mammals, amphibians - clinics rarely publish per-species pricing for exotic pets the way they do for cats and dogs. So we capture who treats them all in one place.

    Mobile & in-home vet care

House-call and in-home vets bring the visit to you - most don't publish a standard clinic fee schedule, so we track who's actually out there, what animals they'll see, and what they charge for the visit itself.

    Equine & horse care

Horse care doesn't fit a per-procedure price sheet the way cat and dog vaccines do - most practices are ambulatory, farm-call, or referral hospitals with their own pricing (and their own mix of surgery, dentistry, imaging, and reproduction services). So we track who's out there and what they actually do.
